My prediction was correct!Unfortunately our bulldogs were drooling after the game on Saturday! It was very similar to the Sierra game! Final overtime score was: Santa Rosa 38, College of San Mateo 31! SRJC had a 1st-and-10 on the CSM 14-yard line after a 77-yard kickoff return from Brandon Driver. The Bear Cubs took the opening kickoff and went on a 9-play, 73-yard drive scoring drive. Froman completed 7 of 8 passes for 84 yards on the drive and the Bulldogs first touchdown came on a 31-yard scoring drive that was set up by a fumble by SRJC running back Jarrel Davis. CSM scored its second touchdown on 11-yard drive, set up by a 25-yard punt return and unnecessary roughness penalty. The Bear Cubs tied the score at 14 on Froman's 14-yard run, which came two plays after Brandon Driver's 77-yard kickoff return. CSM responded with a 9-play, 65-yard scoring drive that featured eight runs to take a 21-14 lead. The Bulldogs took a 28-21 lead six seconds before halftime. Their 10-play, 79-yard drive was aided by a 15-yard roughing-the-passer penalty. SRJC wide receiver Brandyn Reed left the game after taking a violent hit after attempting to catch a pass over the middle with 11:07 left in the quarter. SRJC now has the ball and has a 2nd-and-goal at the CSM 8-yard line. CSM missed a 34-yard field goal with three seconds left in regulation & SRJC got the ball first in overtime and converted a 4th-and-11 at the 26. On CSM's first offensive play of overtime, SRJC linebacker Jared Pereira intercepted a pass over the middle to end the game! Yes I know it sucks, but hey at least our boys went out there with all their effort and strength!
